  Dr. Scott Katzman

  Dr. Scott Katzman is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon, who has received international acclaim for his advancement of minimally invasive surgical techniques. Dr. Katzman specializes in a variety of spine procedures that are designed to minimize blood loss, tissue destruction, scarring, postsurgical pain, and recovery times. His areas of expertise include artificial disc replacement, laser spine surgery, motion-preservation techniques for spinal fusion, and coccygectomy (among others). He is the founder of NJ Spine & Orthopedic and has developed surgical techniques that have transformed the field of spine surgery.

  Dr. Douglas Slaughter

  Dr. Douglas Slaughter is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon with over 20 years of surgical experience. A graduate of the Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Slaughter specializes in treating musculoskeletal disorders and high-impact sports injuries. However, he also uses his expertise to serve patients who have suffered spinal degeneration from age-related issues, such as osteoporosis or degenerative disc disease.

  Dr. Steven Schiebert

  DO

  Dr. Steven Schibert is an internationally trained doctor of osteopathic medicine, with over 10 years of training in orthopedic surgery and 25 years of generalized surgical experience. Dr. Schibert completed his certification in General Surgery in the USSR, before he relocated to the United States, where he pursued a degree in osteopathic medicine from the NY College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYIT). In addition to performing minimally invasive spine surgery, Dr. Schiebert uses evidence-based pain management techniques and conservative treatment alternatives to provide his patients with outstanding nonsurgical and preventative care.

  Dr. Ayan Goswami is a board-certified Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) who specializes in reconstructive traumatology and complex non-healing wound care. Serving both pediatric and adult patients, Dr. Goswami believes in employing a gentle, relaxed, comprehensive, and compassionate approach to any problem affecting the lower extremities. Dr. Goswami uses his expertise to address a variety of foot and ankle disorders, from ankle sprains and fractures to diabetic foot ulcers, rheumatoid arthritis, and more!

  Dr. Christopher McCarthy

  Dr. Christopher McCarthy is a Harvard-trained orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in sports injuries, arthritic conditions, fractures, and arm issues. Dr. McCarthy attended his undergraduate education at Princeton University, before going on to complete his medical training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. While in Boston, Dr. McCarthy also served as medical professional to the Boston Red Sox. Subsequently, Dr. McCarthy completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at Harvard before deciding to expand his practice into orthopedics. Currently, Dr. McCarthy practices at NJSO, where he serves as our go-to orthopedic trauma specialist.

  Dr. Howard Sharf

  Dr. Howard Sharf is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in pathological conditions of the neck and back, including spinal deformities, spinal disorders, and generic back pain. Dr. Sharf earned his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University before going on to complete his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia. Subsequently, Dr. Sharf completed his orthopedic residency at Lutheran Hospital in Indiana. Currently, Dr. Sharf practices at NJSO, where he delivers minimally invasive solutions to a variety of common and complex spine disorders.
